Saint Emilion - Saint Emilion Premier Gr Cru Classe B
Alcohol 13,0 %
After long years of ownership by the Lurton family, this cru is now in hands of Philippe Cuvelier since 2001. He also owns Ch. Poujeaux (Moulis). The vineyard of 20ha is perfectly situated against the church in the centre of St. Emilion and has a super terroir of clay-lime with a lime underlayer. Under the new regime, the yields are very limited (32hl/ha). With the help of wonder advisor Stéphane Derenoncourt, a fantastically fine and intensely concentrated wine is made, definitely worth its ranking of Premier Grand Cru Classé. Since the end of last year, there has been a new director, Mr. Emmanuel de Saint Salvy (ex Bellefont Belcier). He now has the leadership instead of Mr. Tony Ballu who has retired.
