Saint Emilion - Saint Emilion Premier Gr Cru Classe A
Alcohol 13,0 %
This cru belongs to Gérard Perse since 1997, same owner of Ch. Pavie Décesse, Ch. Monbousquet and Clos Lunelles. The cru has known a lot of success since. The style of this wine is determined by the search of very ripe fruit, strong extractions and luxurious riping on 80% new oak barrels. Ch. Pavie is not a wine for immediate pleasure but benefits from some developing in the cellar. The cru has two terroirs. The clay-lime plateau is 85 meters above the Dordogne with an underlayer of lime and an incline of Côte Pavie with a brown soil that has a finer texture but has also clay-lime. The first guarantees volume and fulness, the latter guarantees freshness. The whole is beautiful, the yields are very low (32hl/ha). The cru has been promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé A in 2012. Thanks to this, it was classified next to Ch. Ausone and Ch. Cheval Blanc.
