Saint Emilion - Saint Emilion Gr Cru
Alcohol 13,0 %
This micro cru of 3ha (only 1000 cases per year) belongs to the Englishman Jonathan Maltus. It is a one-piece vineyard next to Ch. Angélus. Almost 80% is planted with cabernet franc (which is very exceptional). The vines were planted in the 50s on a sandy soil on a clay layer with ‘crasse de fer’, iron deposits that can be find in the terroir of Ch. Pétrus. This cru is an example of a ‘garage wine’. This means that the owner tries to make a very fine wine with limited means and a small production. Parker gave this Millésime 2010 a 100/100.
