Alcohol 13,0 %
Ch. Côte de Baleau has been in hands of the Reiffers family for years until it was sold to the Cuvelier family in 2013 (Ch. Clos Fourtet en Ch. Poujeaux). The vineyard disposes of 17ha, of which 14ha is ranked. Ch. Côte de Baleau was one of the chateaus that got promoted from Grand Cru to Grand Cru Classé in 2012 thanks to its constantly raising quality of the last 10 years. The vineyard with its lime-sand terroir has very old vines of approximately 40 years old. A new planting programme will increase the density of the vines to 8500 vines/ha. The wine ripens for 18 months on 50% new oak barrels and 50% oak barrels of one year. 3000 cases are made per year. This wine offers a lot of quality for its price!
