Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
This small but
beautiful cru of 8ha belongs to Christian Dauriac and was promoted from Grand
Cru to Grand Cru Classé in 2006 thanks to its repeated quality of many vintages.
The terroir is a natural amphitheatre which exposes the grapes perfectly to the
sun. The vines have an average age of 50 years which gives concentration to the
wine. Mr. Dauriac is biologist and oenologist and refers to Michel Rolland for
the vinification advice. The vineyard is situated in St. Hippolyte and the
yields are kept very low (34hl/ha). It results in a powerful and round St.
Emilion with a nice complexity in the ripe fruit.
