This property was bought by the négociant Antoine Moueix in 1923. Cathérine and her kids Antoine and Claire are in charge since 1996. The chateau which is surrounded by the vineyards is situated in the south of the plateau of Pomerol at the gate of Libourne. The terroir consists of 13ha which makes it one of the 20 biggest properties of Pomerol. The name refers to the famous iron deposit that’s in the terroir. The terroir consists of gravel, sand and clay. It delivers a very elegant Pomerol with a lot of fine fruit. The wine ripens for 12 months in 33% new oak (de rest in oak barrels of 1 year).
