Médoc - Margaux
Alcohol 13,0 %
Ch. Margaux belongs to the Greek lady Corinne Mentzelopoulos since 2003. The chateau is the undisputed leader of the appellation and one of world’s most wanted wine nowadays. The theme of 2015 was the 200th birthday of the castle, that looks very much like the Parthenon with its pillar construction. Besides, there was the official opening of the new buildings, designed by the famous architect Norman Foster. The general director Paul Pontallier also died in 2015. He has played an important role in the last years of glory and of rebuilding this Premier Cru. Since 2014, the new cuverie has been in use, which means that more selections can be done by parcel and that both first and second wines are of higher quality than ever before. In millésime 2017, all the wines of this chateau were offered in black bottles.
