Ch. Ferrière (18ha)
is one of the smallest Grand Cru Classés after Ch. Pouget in the ranking of
1855. The terroir is situated in Margaux and belongs to the Villars-Merlaut
family since 1988. Claire Villars (same owner of Ch. Haut Bages Libéral), married
to Gonzague Lurton (Ch. Durfort Vivens) vinifies the wine. A new cuverie is in
use since 2013 and since 2015, the wine is bio-certified. Ch. Ferrière is not a
heavy wine, but very elegant and incredibly fruity.
