Château Malescasse belongs to Philippe Austruy
since 2012. He bought the vineyard from the Tesseran family and renovated
everything. Philippe Austruy made his career in the medical sector with his own
company and dreamt to own a few domains, that he has acquired in the meanwhile.
(He also possesses a domain in the Provence, Portugal – Douro and Tuscany) The
terroir of 40ha in Lamarque is situated between the prestigious appellations
Margaux and St. Julien and consists of the typical ‘graves’ slopes. That makes
a perfect drainage and together with the weather influence it gives a ripe and
fresh cabernet and merlot. A second wine always improves the quality of the
first wine.
