The chateau has a
beautiful terroir situated to the Gironde, between the appellations Margaux and
St. Julien. The vineyard is situated next to Ch. Beychevelle and Ch. Branaire
Ducru. For a very reasonable price, one can buy a very good alternative in the
same style of an expensive St. Julien wine. The vineyard is a parcel of about
80ha. The wine is layered on 1/3 new oak, 1/3 barrels of 1 year and 1/3 barrels
of 2 years. The chateau belongs to the Bouteiller family since the 18th
century. Since August 2009, Hubert Bouteiller has given the lead to Mrs. Paz
Espejo who has to give a new boost to this chateau and its quality. The domain
is advised by Mr. Hubert de Bouard.
