This 3rd
Grand Cru Classé deserves its ranking and sometimes even more. The terroir which
is comparable to Graves of Pessac Léognan, gives an incredible finesse combined
with volume and power. The cru belongs to the Frey family since 1999, who also
owns the champagne house Ayala and the famous Rhône house: Paul Jaboulet Aîné.
The daughter Caroline Frey, who has a degree as oenologist, vinifies the wines.
A renovated cuverie, an optical selection and a partial replanting increased
the quality of the chateau the last 5 years. The wine is bio-certified since
millésime 2016.
