Another wine of class from super wine maker François Mitjaville. This cuvee comes from the terroir just in front of Roc des Cambes, the area where there is no appellation ‘Côtes de Bourg’. As usual, that does not worry Mr Mitjavile and he vinifies a top wine in his own manner under the simple appellation ‘Bordeaux Supérieur’. Here you also have the extreme ripe style, he lets the fruit ripen until it almost ‘cracks’ in your mouth and until the seeds have the soft taste of a good coffee or cigar. In this condition, the berries are very fragile that also explains the gentle but expensive harvest to carefully pick intact fruits. The result is stunning, and this wine would absolutely trespass lots of great St. Emilions in blind wine tastings.
